Commercial portal frame and purlins

Roof steel and purlins set out and erected over new blockwork while the building was still under construction.

Red oxide painted steel portal frame with galvanised purlins spanning a new commercial building on blockwork walls

About this job

Beams were cut, drilled and welded in the workshop off the engineer's drawings, so on site it was a case of lifting, lining up and bolting rather than cutting and fitting.

Purlins were set at centres to suit the roof sheeting the main contractor was using, with cleats welded on before anything left the yard.
